DI Christoph Trattner BSc#

Christoph Trattner is a PhD student of Computer Science at Graz University of Technology. He completed his M.Sc. with honors in March 2009 and B.Sc. in Telematik at Graz University of Technology, Austria in March 2008.

He is currently involved in two projects: an EU-Project called Sprichwort (http://www.sprichwort-plattform.org) and an Graz University of Technology project called Austria-Forum (http://www.austria-lexikon.at) which is an cooperated project between Knowledge Management Institute (KMI) and Institute of Information Systems and Computer Media (IICM). Christoph is currently funded by Sprichwort project until October 2010.

The research field of Christoph’s PhD studies is social tagging systems. Especially, his focus is on network theoretic aspects of tags and tag clouds and their navigational utility in hypertext systems such as Wikis.

Christoph’s PhD advisor is Univ. Doz. Dr. Denis Helic. Within his PhD studies Christoph closely collaborates with Univ.Ass. Dr. Markus Strohmaier.

Research Interest #

Analysis and modeling of large real-world networks, Analysis of tagging systems such as Delicious, Flickr, BibSonomy, CiteULike, also including tagging datasets obtained over search query logs (Google, Yahoo! or Bing) or new media systems such as twitter (#tags), modeling of tag cloud algorithms, development and analysis of social software such as Wikis or Micro Blogging systems
